Project Website

This website is intended to provide our stakeholders with information and updates related to PACE Canada's proposed solar farm located on a reclaimed coal mine in Paintearth County.

News Update:

Register for our upcoming Public Information and Consultation Session on Thursday, February 15, 2024, 6:30-8:00 pm. Use this link to register.

In light of the Government of Alberta's decision to place on a moratorium on the permitting of renewable energy projects, PACE Canada would like to take this opportunity to advise our stakeholders that our projects will continue to move through the development process. We will apply for permitting to the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) in March 2024 and anticipate a fall 2024 construction start date if permitting is received. If you would like to read our submission to the AUC, please click on this link.

The Public Involvement Program for the proposed project launched July 10, 2023 when all stakeholders within 800 metres were sent a notification package announcing the project details (click here for a copy of the notification package). An in-person Public Information and Consultation is being planned for early January 2024. Details will be posted on the project website, a paid ad will be placed in the local newspaper and shared through Paintearth County's social media channels.

PACE is commited to continuous stakeholder engagement throughout the life time of the solar farm. Click on this link for an overview of our Public Involvement Program.
